Mission

We started Gentle Creatures in 2019 after adopting our first rescue dog from Muddy Paws Rescue in New York. Back then, she loved to pull on walks, and we bought a few different types of harnesses to encourage better walking. But most training harnesses have a loose fit, and she escaped several times. Thankfully, she had no interest in running away, but oh my dog it gave us a good scare! Naturally, we searched for solutions, and were surprised at how difficult it was to find a solid safety clip—and so, the Collar Companion was born.

We researched extensively how to manufacture a simple, high quality clip, but as is often the case, something which seemed simple was not—it took almost a year to get a quality prototype in hand and gather customer feedback.

We've come a long way since then, but some things never change. We're still dedicated to quality, and to listening to our customers. We care deeply about your feedback—it's essential in helping us to make better products.

We also haven't forgotten our roots. We now work with Muddy Paws directly by donating Collar Companions and other products to all new pet parents—something we wish had been the case when we rescued.

We're pretty sure that you'll love all your Gentle Creatures products, but if for any reason you're disappointed, then we're disappointed too. We want to know what went wrong so we can improve your experience and the product.
